I initially settled for an Cami Research Cableeye M2 just to test the cables I ordered for the Miller TIG Welder Pulser and Sequencer Boards. However, I’ve been on the lookout for a more comprehensive way to test resistance and diodes in various cables. I still had my eye on the Cami Research CableEye M3U, M3Z, or M4, which all seemed ideal for the job. After some time searching and losing bids on other units, a clean-looking M3U finally popped up for sale. The shipping was a bit crazy at $51.51—almost amusing if it had been $51.50! Despite that, I placed my bid, and guess what? I ended up as the highest bidder! Typically, items crazy high shipping costs scare off other bidders. Now, having two of these testers will definitely come in handy. I’m eager to put this one to good use and ensure it earns its keep.

Aug 17th 2024, I made my ownership transfer request, Lets hope that I get the latest version of software available.

On August 20th, I received a reply from Cami Research—they were a bit busy on Monday, but they assured me the software would be ready when the M3U arrives, with an ETA between Wednesday the 21st and Friday the 23rd. Later that evening, around 7 p.m., I received an email confirming that the ownership transfer was complete and the software was ready. Unfortunately, it’s still the older V5.3 software, but at least it’s newer than what I have on the M2. The latest version is V6.2, so I’m a bit behind, but it’s still an improvement.
